Flat tire changes in Dallas-Fort Worth

Stay in the car with your hazards on and let a driver with the right tools mount your spare.

Flat Tire Changes

A flat on the shoulder of I-35E or the President George Bush Turnpike is not a place to wrestle with a jack. Trucks pass a few feet away, the ground slopes, and if you have kids in the car you cannot watch them and the lug nuts at the same time. Maverick Towing sends a driver to change the tire for you, 24 hours a day, anywhere in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Many calls come from drivers who tried first. The spare was flat, the jack was missing, or the wheels have locking lug nuts and the key is nowhere to be found. Our trucks carry a proper jack, a breaker bar, and an air supply, so most of those problems get solved right there on the shoulder.

If you have no spare, or the spare is unsafe, we load the car on the flatbed and take it to a tire shop you choose, or the nearest one that is open. Cars, SUVs, pickups, and vans are all fine. We have done this across the metroplex for more than a decade.

What we handle

What we bring to a flat tire call

  • A jack that fits your vehicle and holds on uneven ground
  • Air to inflate a low spare before it goes on
  • A breaker bar for lug nuts that were torqued by machine
  • Truck lighting and markers to shield the work area from traffic
  • A flatbed tow to a tire shop if there is no spare

Why not change it yourself

Sometimes you should, on a quiet street in daylight with a good spare. On a highway shoulder at night, the risk is not worth it. A car slipping off a jack, a child stepping toward traffic, or a passing truck drifting over the line can all happen in a second. Our drivers set up lights and markers first, then work fast.

FAQ

Flat Tire Changes questions

What if I do not have a spare tire?

Many newer cars ship without one. If that is your situation, we will tow the car to a tire shop instead. Tell the dispatcher your tire size if you know it, or the year and model of the car, and we can point you toward a shop that stocks it.

Can you change a tire on the highway?

Yes, that is most of what we do. Pull as far right as you can, stay in the car with your seat belt on, and keep your hazards flashing. Our driver will park behind you with the light bar on to shield the work area, then change the tire on the side away from traffic when possible.

Where should I keep my wheel lock key?

In the glove box or taped to the lug wrench in the trunk. It is small and easy to lose after a tire rotation, so check that it came back from the shop. If it is missing when we arrive, we will tow you to a tire shop that can remove the locks.
