Winching from mud in Dallas-Fort Worth
When your wheels spin and the car sinks, we winch it out slowly and safely.
Winching From Mud
North Texas clay holds water for days after a storm. Pull two feet onto a soft shoulder along SH 121 or a grassy median on Loop 12 and the tires can sink before you notice. Flooring it just polishes the ruts. Maverick Towing runs winch-outs 24 hours a day, every day, across Dallas-Fort Worth, for cars, SUVs, pickups, vans and light commercial vehicles.
The driver sets the truck on firm ground, finds a rated recovery point on your vehicle and attaches a strap with a soft shackle, never a bumper or a tie rod. The winch pulls at a steady pace while the driver watches the wheels and the line. A snatch block adds a better angle when the truck cannot line up straight. Most winch-outs take a few careful pulls.
Getting a stuck car out on your own can tear off a bumper, bend a control arm or drop you into traffic. Let the winch do the work. Once you are on pavement, the driver checks that it drives straight. If it does not, the flatbed is right there and we can take it to the shop you choose. Like every Maverick job, the winch-out is done by drivers licensed, bonded and insured in Texas.
What we handle
Where drivers get stuck around DFW
- Grass medians and soft shoulders after rain
- Drainage ditches beside farm roads and frontage roads
- Muddy job sites and unpaved parking areas
- Sandy lake access roads near Grapevine and Lewisville
- Front yards after missing a driveway at night
- Flooded low spots once the water goes down
Why call Maverick for a winch-out
A winch-out done wrong costs more than the tow. Ripped tow hooks, cracked bumpers and bent suspension are what happen when someone yanks a stuck car with a rope. Our drivers have recovered vehicles around Dallas, Irving and Plano for more than a decade, and they pull slowly, from the right point, at the right angle. Give us a call and tell us what you are stuck in.

FAQ
Winching From Mud questions
Do I need a winch-out or a tow?
If the car is stuck but not damaged, in mud, sand or a shallow ditch, a winch-out is enough and you drive away. If it is damaged, will not start, or the tires are shredded, we winch it out and then tow it to your shop on the same visit.
Can you winch out larger vehicles?
We recover pickups, full-size SUVs, cargo vans and light commercial vehicles as well as cars. Tell us the vehicle type, whether it is loaded and how deep it is sitting so we bring the right equipment. For anything heavier, ask when you call and we will tell you whether we can take it.
Will winching damage my car?
Not when it is done properly. We attach to a rated recovery point, use a soft shackle and pull in line with the direction the car wants to move. Hooking a bumper or a suspension part and pulling hard is what causes damage, and we do not do that.
Can you come after dark or during a storm?
Yes. We are open 24 hours a day, every day, and rainy nights are when most winch-out calls come in. If the water is still rising, wait for it to stop and stay out of the vehicle. Once conditions are safe, we come out.
